下面碟评,作者AITNOM站长,
Let’s take a moment to thank Ohio for all of the great metalcore band’s they’ve provided us with over the years. I don’t think I need to put together a list—most of us know those names by heart. There’s a lot to live up to for any metalcore band coming out of that state, so the pressure is on for their very own Come The Dawn. The band did sign to one of the biggest labels in the scene almost over night of course, so the bar is set even higher. Do they pull it off? One thing many metalcore band’s struggle with is that creative combination of melody transition from the more aggressive moments in their music to the softer and more toned down and focused parts. Many seem to suffer and either overlay and suffocate their music with too much auto-tune and pop synthesizers that it seems to clog the entire sound full of it. On the other hand, we have Come The Dawn who pull off these sudden transitions well—and the band owes this very much to their very talented vocalists Marcus and John. This pair’s vast contrast between vocal styles creates such a great mixture between the two that it’s outstanding to hear. The natural and settling clean vocals make for both tranquil and powerful moments in choruses, while the more aggressive and unforgiving vocals are all power all the time. Now we can’t just focus on the synergy between these two, because the effect put on by John and Samuel with excellent riffing and both appropriate and well timed chugging gives this music the perfect structure to exist within. Come The Dawn breathe fresh air into this sound by mixing some familiar with something new. The use of electronics is rampant in metalcore, especially those switching over to a more nu-metal sound—Come The Dawn infuse their electronics well into the musics in a way that they don’t overshadow the rest of the music, though their obvious use in “Game Over” does make for a good and quick moment of fun in the album. The piano pieces in this album are also a strong staple in metalcore, as they have been for a good time now, and Come The Dawn use these in a strong and effective way, allowing them to have their own personality. One last thing I must compliment the band on is the placement of “The Last Night” and “Perspectives”: placing the softest song of the album and the heaviest song of the album at the end for a strong finale is perfect, especially for such a great album inspired by some of the best that metalcore has to offer. Come The Dawn’s Light of the World is perfect: it feels so familiar, and yet so new and fresh. All In the Name of Music gives Light of the World a 5/5. 楼主吐槽:又是一新团,但是完全没有不成熟的迹象,一切都是那么强大,无论从任何一个方面考虑都能获得很多粉丝的八方美人派,商业化在所难免,就看是否能保持下去了。评分:9.4/10
